Eddie Amador, Rui Vargas and Desyn Masiello. Hair stylists will take care
of the fashion happening with their own glam creations. Those are members
of the Studio In, Tijeras and the Tamara Janža Team.
One of the eminent spanish Djs, which will pay a visit to Ambasada Gavioli on
her eighth anniversary, is Eddie Amador. In the past seven years
he has gained the respect of one of the most innovative house producers on the
world dance scene. The beginning of his career as a Dj goes back to the '85,
when after the 'boom' of hip-hop another genre followed, that's house.
After moving to Los Angeles, he becomes, as many, addicted by after hours, on
which he gets in touch with many famous people and other Hollywood boisters,
who easily make him the way through the dance scene in the place. The fact brought
Amador to success worldwide, the most of it was due the super hit 'House
Music', under the Yoshitoshi label. A year after we
find him again on the highest positions on charts, among them, he is placed between
the 20 best ones in the UK and with other successes one after another easily
gains the status of a real house-pop producer. All of this leads him to cooperate
with the french master Bob Sinclar, with him he breaks through
one more time on significant selling places of dance music creations, this time
with the Psycho-X Girlfriend. Amador has founded his label Mochico
in LA at the beginning of the new century, and the Casagrande label with an old
friend Pete Salaz. They released Tears of Joy and El Compadre. Eddie currently
plays in clubs System Soundbar (Toronto) and Batacuda (Phoenix),
and is preparing on his new hit (Shake It), which will be released in spring
under the Yoshitoshi label.
Rui Vargas is one of the main Djs, responsable for the development of
the hidden and small, yet well up scene in Portugal. He started djing
in the mid eighties, as being resident in the legendary portoguese club
Fragil. The new decennium brought him the title of the dinamic ambassador
of international house music in Portugal, who does not appear only on
festivals, but also on radio shows. First the Tagus University radio,
later CMR and one of the commercial radio stations, where having his
own show »A margem de certa maneira«. He also ran
first mixed compilations in his Country, for which he chose music from respected
labels as Strictly Rhythm, Azuli, Tribal America
and the Basement Boys. Until '97 Rui ran a vinyl store The Lollipop, which certainly
had a strong influence on the electronic scene in Bairro Alto. After several
cooperations with different names from the clubbing and pop scene and after many
appeareances in Brazil, Italy, the UK and
other countries, he likes his own, Lisbon, the best, where he is actually resident
and the musical manager of the Lux club.
We know Desyn Masiello as the owner of the Alternative
Route Recordings label. His very first production, Voices, which was
released under this label with the pseudonym KC Flight,
the Deep Dish duo placed it on the first place of their
chart. Besides the quality sound, it opens a new wideness in assuring
an excellent dance vibe. The label is famous for its variety of the released
productions of also unknown artists, as Paul Hemill, Electric
Mistress and Guy Gerber. On his other label, Sexonwax,
we can find remixes for Blondie, West London
Deep, etc. Currently, together with his cooperate Leon,
he is finishing a remix for Brother Brown »Kings
of Tomorrow« and a piece he made with 16-B »Feel
the Rush Rasheed«. Besides everyday burdens, briught by running
those labels, he finds the time for his gigs. He has appeared on almost
all of the major festivals, as Creamfields and V 98 music festival and
in several clubs as the Gatecrasher (London), Plus Soda(Greece),
Cream(Liverpool), Redbox(Ireland), Kremlin(Amsterdam), Switch Club(istanbul),
